Religious Leaders, India: Iman of Mecca's Holy Mosque and Islamic Scholars from India come together with Message of Peace

In Mumbai scholars and muslim imans from India gathered together with Sheikh Adel Al-Kalbani-the Iman of the Grand Mosque in the Holy city of Mecca- at a peace conference organized by Indian Islamic preacher Dr. Zakir Naik, the director of Islamic Research Foundation, November 14-23, 2008.The Sheikh told in his Friday prayer in Sion that there is no conflict between Islam and other religions because Islam's message is universal and if Muslims follow the Quran and the Sunna (traditions of Prophet Mohammed) in their right perspective, a lot of their problems would be solved. Muslims must keep patience and perseverance in their conduct in a secular country where there's no Islamic rule, he told in his khutba (sermon). Dr. Naik said that terrorists should not be identified with her religion but as persons. A terrorist has no religion, he told. Senior cleric Mufti Faizal Rahman Qasmi from Punjab called upon Indians to fight terrorism.
